More on NaNo2012

I have accepted the fact that I will most likely not finish my novel during NaNo. I did just finish my 50K, actually, which is great. But that’s only a little over half my novel and I’ve got a lot of work to do this month, too.

As an ambitious human being, this is hard to accept. As a writer, this is hard to accept.

However sometimes we have to accept things we really don’t to simply because that’s the way the world works, and I can’t drive myself out of sleep so I can finish my papers AND my novel.

In fact, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be particularly doable, even if I found a way not to sleep for the next couple of weeks.

So even though I’ve officially finished the NaNo task (waiting to verify it, which I can’t do for a few days), To the End of the Earth is probably not going to be completed in November. I do project, however, that it shall be finished by Christmas.
